Salmonella typhi polysaccharides (Ty2 strain)

Indications: Prevention of typhoid fever 

Vaccination Timing: Vaccination should occur at least 14 days before potential exposure.

Who needs it?

  • General adult or children of over 2 years old for prevention of typhoid fever 
  • Food handlers (chefs, kitchen staff, vendors)
  • Travelers to endemic areas
  • Migrants
  • Health care professionals who handles Salmonella typhi and health care workers in high-risk areas
  • Household Members: People living with known Salmonella typhi carriers.

Inactivated Quadrivalent Influenza Vaccine (Split Virion) influenza virus haemagglutinin

Indications: Prevention of influenza disease caused by the 2 influenza A virus subtypes and 2 influenza B virus.

Who needs it?

  • Young Children: Especially aged 6 months to 5 years.
  • Older Adults: Individuals aged 60 or 65 and older
  • Pregnant Women 
  • Chronic Medical Conditions: People with asthma, chronic lung disease, heart disease, diabetes, or kidney/liver disorders.
  • Weakened Immune Systems: Individuals with weakened immunity due to cancer treatment, HIV, or long-term steroid use.
  • Healthcare Workers and Caregivers
  • Residents of Long-Term Care Facilities

Inactivated hepatitis A vaccine.

Indications

  • Active immunisation against hepatitis A virus (HAV).
  • Havrix will not prevent hepatitis infection caused by other agents such as hepatitis B, C or E virus or other pathogens known to infect the liver.

Who needs it?

  • Adolescents:  Adolescents aged 2–18 years who have not been vaccinated.
  • Travelers: Individuals traveling to countries where hepatitis A is common.
  • High-Risk Individuals:
      • Men who have sex with men (MSM)
      • Chronic Liver Disease: Those with hepatitis B or C, or other chronic liver conditions.
      • Occupational Exposure: Healthcare personnel, laboratory workers, and sewage workers.

  • Close Contact: Individuals who have close contact with household members who has hepatitis A.

Recombinant hepatitis B vaccine.

Indications: Immunization against infection caused by all known subtypes of Hepatitis B virus.

Who needs it?

  • All Infants: Routine vaccination within 24 hours of birth.
  • Children and Adolescents
  • All Adults 19-59 Years: Regardless of risk factors. (CDC)
  • Adults 60+ with Risk Factors: Individuals with diabetes, chronic liver disease, HIV.
  • High-Risk Individuals:
    • People with multiple sexual partners or a history of STDs.
    • Men who have sex with men.
    • People who inject illicit drugs.
    • Healthcare and public safety workers.
    • Household contacts or sexual partners of someone with hepatitis B.
    • Travelers to regions with high rates of hepatitis B infection.
    • Patients with end-stage renal disease.

Human papillomavirus (HPV)  9-valent vaccine, recombinant.

Indications

Gardasil 9 helps protect individuals age 9 to 45 against the following diseases caused by 9 types of HPV: cervical, vaginal, and vulvar cancers in females, anal cancer, certain head and neck cancers, such as throat and back of mouth cancers and genital warts in both males and females.

 

HPV vaccination is a type of cancer prevention.

Who needs it?

  • Girls aged 9-14, prior to the start of sexual activity
  • ALL Adults (Ages 15–45): Recommended for adults not previously vaccinated. (Both men and women)

** Even if you are already sexually active, you may still benefit from the vaccine, as it can protect against HPV strains you have not yet been exposed to.

**Not recommended for women who are pregnant.
